Heating water remediation in accordance with VDI 2035

Scale formation, corrosion and silting are frequent causes of damage in older heating systems. For this reason, VDI 2035 specifies guide values for filling and make-up water — forming the basis for economical, safe and sustainable operation and contributing to the fulfilment of warranty conditions.

The VDI 2035 guideline (Prevention of damage in hot water heating systems) represents the current state of the art, increasing energy efficiency and operational safety in heating systems where the intended flow temperature does not exceed 100°C.

Information on VDI 2035

Prevention of damage in hot water heating systems – scale formation and water-side corrosion

The revised guideline addresses damage caused by scale formation and water-side corrosion. It provides recommendations for hot water heating systems according to DIN EN 12828 where the intended flow temperature does not exceed 100°C. It also applies to systems operated temporarily or permanently in direct hydraulic connection with closed cold or cooling water circuits. Scale formation and water-side corrosion are now addressed in a single combined guideline, incorporating technical knowledge from existing plant operations.

Remediation of closed cooling circuits in accordance with VDI 6044

Closed cooling circuits present specific challenges due to complex system components and a wide variety of materials. The extremely long residence time of water in the system results in low concentration cycles and reduced make-up water volumes, which promote deposit and corrosion tendencies.

Without interrupting operations, we carry out cooling water remediation of your cooling systems during ongoing operation — from the initial system analysis through bypass remediation to handover back to the operator. Prevention of damage in cold water and cooling circuits

The VDI 6044 guideline, introduced on 1 April 2023, provides clear specifications for the planning, construction and operation of closed cold water and cooling circuits with a circulating water temperature of less than 40°C, taking into account the current state of the art. Particular attention is paid to plant monitoring.
